reasons why eating healthy, mindfully can benefit your health

Eating mindfully is a way of using all of your physical and emotional senses to experience and enjoy food choices you make.

Multitasking while eating has become the new way of eating. Whether you have a short lunch and scroll through social media while rushing to eat, or watch tv during a meal. This often can lead to less awareness of your food which leads to less satisfaction with meals and often overeating. With overeating comes meal inconsistency which than can lead to problems we all don’t want… unwanted weight gain.

This technique of mindful eating is an approach to help you slow down and really take those moments to sit and really eat what you are eating, or not stuff your face as most would say. I can admit that I have times where I think I have fallen off the deep end by having a cycle of overeating and then feeling guilty after. When I began to use mindful eating to increase my awareness of my food, I was able to build a healthy relationship with my food.
